Section 21 Declaration

Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 prohibits any person who has been convicted of a criminal offence and sentenced to a term of imprisonment (including a suspended sentence of 3 months or more, given after 14 July 2014) from possessing a firearm or ammunition under any circumstances.

• A sentence of 3 years or more results in a lifetime ban.

• A sentence of between 3 months and 3 years results in a 5-year ban from the date of release.

• A suspended sentence of 3 months or more results in a 5-year ban starting from the second day after sentencing.

To ensure legal compliance and the safety of all participants, the TCRA require all members and guests to declare they are not prohibited under this legislation before attending or participating in any shooting activities.
